Volunteer With Us

Contribute to a more inclusive and equitable future

Join Flourish As a Volunteer

Flourish Education and Mentorship Society is powered by passionate volunteers who help us inspire, empower, and uplift young girls through mentorship, education, and community engagement. Whether you have a few hours a month or want to take on a more active role, there are many ways to get involved!

Most of our volunteers are involved through our empowerment camps which happen in both spring and summer. If you are interested in volunteering for our summer programs, or have another skillset and want to see how you can contribute to the organization, fill out the form below and we will be in contact with you shortly!

 What Volunteers Do

You are invited to be yourself, share yourself with the group, and participate. As a mentor, you help guide youth into adulthood, giving participants a sense of who you are. In activities, add your voice, circulate where needed, chat with participants who need extra support, and be an extra set of eyes, ears, and heart to help build a safe container. Volunteers also assist with setting up and cleaning up activities and the space. Sometimes, smaller groups of 4-6 youth may be formed for discussions or outdoor nature activities. You may lead one of these groups depending on your comfort level.

Program Schedule

Roughly half of the program takes place outdoors. Mornings are spent inside learning about the topic of the day, followed by lunch and afternoons outdoors enjoying nature, decompressing, and having fun. Programs often include 1-2 returning youth mentors who help lead, set up, and clean up. Together, youth mentors, adult volunteers, and facilitators form a strong leadership team to support each group.

Program Dates and Requirements

Detailed program information can be found in the programs tab. Volunteers ideally participate for the full week, with a minimum of 2 days. Please arrive 30 minutes before the program start and stay 30 minutes after for team meetings. Morning meetings review activities, touch base on issues, and set goals. Volunteers can choose to lead activities if desired.

Volunteering requires a criminal record check, provided free by Flourish Education and Mentorship Society. Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation, food, and weather-appropriate clothing.
